My name is Jeff Barker
I have been professionally preparing taxes since 2013.
I worked for the world's largest tax preparation firm for 3 years.
I have been preparing tax returns for friends and family for over 15 years.
During my fourth year with the firm, I left them and
decided to begin my own tax preparation service.
Since 2017, I have been running my own in-home tax preparation office.
My low overhead means I can save you money on your tax preparation fees.
My experience means I can help you navigate through the new tax laws
so you will have a partner when completing your tax return.
In 2021 I began preparations to add bookkeeping services.
I have always enjoyed doing that type of work since high school,
where I took 2 years of accounting. That was 1983-85.
However, I was unable to pursue that career at that time.
I have always ran my personal finances in a 'bookkeeping fashion'.
I became familiar with Peachtree in the late 1990s. So I naturally began
using it's next incarnation, known as Sage50, for my tax prep business.
In 2022 I took refresher classes in Accounting at RCC so I could earn
2 certificates to officially show I know how to do Bookkeeping.
This is when I was introduced to QuickBooks Online.
In December 2023 I took my QuickBooks Online certifications,
completing them in just 3 weeks. Now I get to pursue my first love.
We've added Bookkeeping services to our lineup, with the goal of
making this full-time, so I can quit my exterminating job of 15+ years.
The Bookkeeping services is the family part of my business, with both
my wife and myself helping businesses with their books.
